Join FIT and Stony Brook University students, faculty and alumni who participated on the development PPE for Diverse Bodies: FIT for Diverse Populations project-designed, developed and produced a zero-waste, adaptable face mask prototypes that will appeal to diverse body types. Using a STEAM (STEM+Art) approach, a multi-disciplinary team of faculty and students selected the face mask sustainable material, designed a new mask with adaptable features, and created a prototype. Comfort, visibility, and safety factors are at the forefront of the mask design that can be adaptable for diverse body types. The adaptability in design ensures this innovative product addresses the needs to have a safer, environmentally friendly PPE face mask available during the current pandemic and beyond. *Original funding for this project was received by both FIT and SBU as part of SUNY prepare initiative for the development and production of PPE.
