Elaine Stone began her career at FIT when she was invited to speak in a business friend's class in 1974. A year later, she began teaching a class for the Fashion Buying and Merchandising Department (FBM). Stone became a professor in the FBM department, coordinator of the small business center, and director of the Center of Global Enterprise.

This is a faculty highlight interview conducted under the Diversity Grant Program.

Excerpts presented on April 29, 2010 as part of 'Celebrating Diversity', an event co-sponsored by Diversity Council at FIT & the Gladys Marcus Library.
