- FIT's 26th academic symposium "Reinvention and Restlessness: Fashion in the Nineties" held at The Museum at FIT on February 11, 2022. This virtual event that focuses on the 1990s, explores how concepts such as globalism and technological advancement shaped fashion of the era.
- 1. The Museum at FIT Curator Colleen Hill discusses the reasons behind curating an exhibition about the decade that closed out the last century.
- 2. MFIT Deputy Director Patricia Mears reviews the many groundbreaking runway shows from the 1990s.
- 3. Alexandre Samson, fashion historian, curator, and head of the Haute Couture (from 1947) and Contemporary Design department at the Palais Galliera, Paris Fashion Museum, discusses the collections of the Belgian fashion designer Martin Margiela.
- 4. Graphic designer Paul Boudens and Dr. Marco Pecorari, assistant professor and director of the MA in Fashion Studies at The New School Parsons Paris, discuss "1990s Fashion Ephemera: Trends, Desire, and Exclusivity."
- 5. Lamine Badian Kouyaté of Xuly.Bët and Dr. Valerie Steele, director and chief curator at The Museum at FIT engage in a conversation.
