- The Department of Advertising and Marketing Communications with the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology present two speakers—Mark Hannant and Serge Perignon—who will discuss emerging markets as important drivers of global economic growth. Hannant and Perignon are professional communicators working at the intersection of developed and emerging economies. They will talk about the way in which globalization has created the demand for a new breed of communications expert and the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this exciting, but complex, space.
- Mark Hannant is the founder and managing director of magenta (teammagenta.com). Hannant is a creative services entrepreneur whose career has been spent in journalism, corporate communications, and branding. He has run businesses in Europe, the U.S., and Asia. In 2009, convinced of the importance of emerging markets, he moved to India. He founded magenta, a fresh-thinking creative agency. magenta offers a range of communications planning, content, and design services to Indian mulitnationals creating international footprints and foreign investors in emerging markets. Hannant will speak about the challenges and opportunities of doing business in the world's fastest-growing large economy.
- Serge Perignon is the global head of marketing and thought leadership for consulting and enterprise solutions at Tata Consulting Services (tcs.com). He is an international B2B marketing leader with over 20 years of experience. Perignon leads marketing, thought leadership, analyst relations, and communications for the global business unit. He also focuses on thought leadership marketing strategy and programs on behalf of the entire organization, having co-led seven global trend studies since 2011, and directing the firm's management journal, Perspectives. TCS is a global IT services, consulting, and business solutions organization. It is recognized as a top 100 brand in the U.S. by Brand Finance.
