Part presentation, part Q&A, FIT's "Faces & Places in Fashion" lecture series is an opportunity to connect students and the public alike to the pulse of the fashion industry in an open and conversational setting.
Bud Konheim, president and CEO of Nicole Miller shows transparencies of the Spring 2007 season, that demonstrate Ms. Miller's inspiration from Hawaiian design. He also describes the phenomena of celebrities and personalities becoming the new designers, and designers paying celebrities to wear their designs for the exposure. He explains the strategy behind Nicole Miller agreeing to do a line for JC Penney's.
