- Part presentation, part Q&A, FIT's "Faces & Places in Fashion" lecture series is an opportunity to connect students and the public alike to the pulse of the fashion industry in an open and conversational setting.
- Teri Agins, freelance journalist and feature writer for the Wall Street Journal describes how fashion design has changed in the past 15 years as it becomes more of a business. She attributes the change to the fall of dress codes, rise of cheap chic, reliance on celebrity marketing and the trend toward fashion companies being publicly owned and risk-averse. Ms. Agins predicts that the age of multi-billion dollar companies like Calvin Klein, appealing to all price-ranges is ending and will be replaced by scaled-down fashion design firms.
