Description

This year, we'd like to celebrate Black History Month at The FIT Library by screening the HBO Original Documentary Donyale Luna: Supermodel, the story of the first Black woman to cover Vogue (1966) and Harper's Bazaar (1965). Before the screening, we will have a panel discussion about Luna's legacy and the triumphs and trials of the Black model and more, with Moderator Monica Williamson of the Gladys Marcus Library at Fashion Institute of Technology; Isoul H. Harris, a producer of Donyale Luna: Supermodel and former EIC of EDITION by Modern Luxury; Constance R. White, former EIC of Essence; Pioneering Supermodel Coco Mitchell; and former EIC of EBONY, Marielle Bobo.
