Black History Month Opening Program and Keynote Address

SUNY Board of Trustees Chairman H. Carl McCall will deliver the keynote for the opening of Black History Month at FIT. The national theme this year is Black Migrations, emphasizing the movement of people of African descent to new destinations and subsequently to new social realities. While inclusive of earlier centuries, this theme focuses especially on the 20th century through today.
The program includes Student Greetings by Angela Billings; the Black National Anthem led by the FIT Gospel Choir; remarks by Dr. Ronald Milon, FIT Chief Diversity Officer; Remarks and Introduction of the Keynote Speaker by Dr. Giacomo Oliva, Vice President of Academic Affairs; Keynote Address by H. Carl McCall, Chairman of the SUNY Board of Trustees; and a performance by Derek Anthony.
Sponsored by the FIT Diversity Council.
