FIT Talks: Judy Mindell Interview
Description
Judy Mindell, one of FIT's first year students, is interviewed by Karen Trivette at the FIT Library's Special Collections and College Archives reading room. She talks about how the program has guided her in her life even though she didn't go into the fashion industry. Mrs. Mindell was 91 years old at the time of this interview.
Born in 1927 in the Bronx, Judy Mindell attended the Fashion Institute of Technology for a year in its very first year of existence, 1944. She worked briefly at a custom dress house, but left for work outside the fashion industry. After getting married and having children, she opened up a small second hand shop in Masachusettes. She credits her ability to choose quality items for shop on the education she received from FIT.
