Faces and Places in Fashion: Rachel Lande
Part presentation, part Q&A, FIT's "Faces & Places in Fashion" lecture series is an opportunity to connect students and the public alike to the pulse of the fashion industry in an open and conversational setting.
Rachel Lande has worked within merchandising for over 15 years across multiple American brands including; Gap, Gilt Groupe, Ann Taylor, Coach and now Kate Spade. She began her career in a retail management training program at Gap, eventually landing in merchandising for Banana Republic. In 2009, she moved to New York to join, then start up, Gilt Groupe as an associate buyer for contemporary women’s wear. After that, she moved to Ann Taylor Loft as a senior merchant, managing their largest category, sweaters and driving growth in her area. Since 2013, Rachel has been at Tapestry. For the first 7 years she held ascending roles in Global Merchandising at Coach and most recently transferred to Kate Spade as the VP of Leathergoods and an integral part of the Kate Spade global merchandising team. She works with design and product development to create long term global strategies for the brand. In her current role, she overseas merchandising for both full price and outlet brands.
