Faces and Places in Fashion: Karen Sabag
Description
Part presentation, part Q&A, FIT's "Faces & Places in Fashion" lecture series is an opportunity to connect students and the public alike to the pulse of the fashion industry in an open and conversational setting.
Born to a creative family of couturiers, Karen Sabag discovered her passion for creativity at a young age. She began designing her Own pieces at home, under the careful guidance of her mother. She later went on to study and graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2005. Throughout those years she was awarded first place in the Kleinfelds Bridal Design Competition in 2007, from over 800 entrants. She then went on to open her Brooklyn boutique for made-to-order bridal gowns, evening wear and cocktail dresses. With an overwhelming amount of success she pursued her dream and opened her second boutique in Manhasset, March 2013. Her sensibility of the female form, and ability to create elegant, modern and timeless pieces brought success to the Karen Sabag atelier, having her pieces appeal to all generations. With her mother by her side Karen Sabag oversees all creations, having each piece combined with the finest materials, unrivaled craftsmen and most importantly the creative vision of Karen Sabag.
