The Fine Arts Department presents a lecture by artist, Nayland Blake, as part of the 2010-11 lecture series, ARTSpeak: A Multipart Symposium on Diversity and Art.
Nayland Blake is an artist, writer and educator whose work addresses issues the artist’s own racially mixed background, sexual identity and body image. His work is included in the collections of MoMA, the Whitney Museum, the Studio Museum of Harlem, LA MoCa, and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, among others. In 1994 he co-curated the exhibition “In a Different Light,” the first major museum exhibition to examine the impact of queer artists on contemporary art.
The Diversity Council of the Fashion Institute of Technology is pleased to give its Stamp of Support for this event. Co-sponsored by the Fine Arts Department and a grant from the President’s Diversity Fund.
